Jake’s Fridays Children’s Book

Jake loves his family, and he loves celebrating Fridays with them! It’s his favorite day of the week, but things at Jake’s house begin to change when his parents make an announcement. He wonders what will happen on his favorite day now. Jake knows he doesn’t like change, but he soon realizes that change doesn’t have to be so bad after all. 

Written by family law attorney and children’s author Misty Woodard Harrison, Jake’s Fridays explores separation from a child’s point of view, as well as the topic of blended families, child custody, and adjusting to living at two separate houses. She decided to write this book after seeing what families with young children went through during the separation process. Her hope is to make this process easier for children to understand as they experience them within their own families. Misty currently works for the Rosen Law Firm of Raleigh, NC.
